Received his Bachelor´s degree in systems engineering from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Perú. Master degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of São Paulo, PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and Post-doctorate degree from the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering of the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
He was a researcher at the University of São Paulo from 2003 to 2013. He worked as a professor and coordinator of the University Center UniAteneu, Brazil. He worked as a post-graduate coordinator of the MBA in Information Technology Governance at the Instituto Ateneu de Pós-Graduação.
He also was a professor at UNIESP – Union of Educational Institutions of São Paulo, Brazil. He is currently a professor at the Science and Technology Department of the Autonomous University of Lisbon. His research interests include Internet of Things, Edge Computing, Mobile and Wireless Computing, Unmanned Vehicles and Wireless Sensor Networks.
